Trip to Ireland, 2005:
Temple Bar: Quay's and Oliver St. John Gogarty
On the way back to the hotel, we went to Trinity College to go to the Book of Kells exhibit. That was fascinating, but I was unable to take any photos (*sigh*). I'd seen the Book of Kells tour when it hit America in the late '70s, but the Trinity College exhibition was much more complete.
After we had a leisurely tour of the Book of Kells, we went upstairs and saw The Long Room, a huge library of very old books. The brief library scene in Attack of the Clones (at least, I think it was Attack of the Clones) was based on The Long Room. If Jim or I ever win a large lottery, we'd like our library to look like that (but have better lighting).
